"Sonnets from the Portuguese"
was written by Elizabeth Moulton-Barrett during her courtship with the poet
Robert Browning. Portuguese was Robert's pet name for Elizabeth.
The sonnets, not shown to him until after the marriage, were published in
1850. My old leather-bound copy, published
by Chapman & Hall, was originally owned by my husband's grandfather.
I used the original punctuation, etc. here. The sonnets, all very
beautiful, can be accessed by the "enter" button.
The midi is "Take Care of it Well" - sequencer unknown.
