Materials: 1. Scraps of pastel fabric 2. Forster's wooden doll pin (available with stand at craft shops) 3. Grey felt scraps for ears and hands 4. Assorted acrylic paints 5. Paintbrushes (fine and broad) 6. Tacky glue 7. Thread to match the fabrics, a sewing needle and scissors Directions: 1. Use a fine-pointed brush to paint pink cheeks and black features - see photo for detailing. Clean brush thoroughly between colors. 2. Select a small amount of paint to match dress color and using a broader brush, paint below head, for dress bodice. 3. Cut out two ears and two hands from grey felt. 4. Cut one 4 1/2" x 8" for skirt and four sleeves from pastel fabric. 5. Stitch short edges of skirt together, then narrow-hem one raw edge. 6. Gather remaining raw edge for skirt waist. 7. Narrow-hem remaining raw edge. 8. Place skirt on doll pin inside out and upside down, as if wind had blown the skirt over her head. 9. Adjust gathers and tie thread ends. 10. Slide skirt up to neck. 11. Apply glue around doll pin about 1/2" above slot. 12. Slide dress down over glue and hold in place. 13. When dry, turn dress right side out and down. 14. Sew sleeves together in pairs, leaving bottom edge open. Turn. 15. Tuck each sleeve bottom to fit into folded felt hand; glue to secure. 16. Glue sleeve tops to shoulders. 17. Stick each bunny into its stand. |
