COCOA APPLESAUCE CAKE
Ingredients:
1/2 c. margarine or soft butter
2 eggs
1/4 c. cocoa
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/3 c. water
1/2 c. nuts (optional)
1 1/2 c. white sugar
2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 1/2 c. sweetened applesauce
1 c. raisins
Method:
1. Cream butter, sugar and eggs and beat until light and fluffy.
2. Mix flour, cocoa, soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg together.
3. Add to creamed mixture, alternating with applesauce and water, blending well after each addition.
4. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees or until well done.
