1. Worsted weight yarn, 3 oz. white, 2 oz. pink, 1 oz. yellow, small amounts of brown, black and grey
2. Crochet hooks; size E
3. Six-strand embroidery floss; rose, blue and black
4. Yarn needle
5. Polyester fiberfill stuffing
6. Craft glue
Gauge 5 sc = 1''; 5 rows = 1''.
Beg at top ot head, with pink, ch 7.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each of next 5 ch-6 sc. Ch 1 , turn each row.
Row 2: 2 sc in first sc, sc in each st to last sc, 2 sc in last sc.
Row 3: Sc in each sc-8 sc.
Rows 4-9: Repeat rows 2 and 3.
Row 10: sc in each sc-1 4 sc.
Row 11: Pull up a lp in each of first 2 sc, yo and through 3 lps on hook (1 dec), sc across to last 2 sts., dec 1 sc.
Rows 12-17: Repeat rows 10 and 11- 6 sc.
Rows 18-20: Work even. At end ot row 20, cut pink; join white. With white, ch 14 for arm.
Row 21: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each of next 12 ch, sc in each of 6 sc on neck, ch 14, turn.
Row 22: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each of next 12 ch, sc in each of next 19 sc.
Rows 23-25: Work even-32 sc.
Row 26: Work across 23 sc; ch 1 , turn.
Row 27: Work across 14 sc; ch 1, turn.
Rows 28-31: Work even.
Row 29: Inc 1 sc each side.
Row 3O and 31: Work even-1 6 sc.
Row 32: Inc 1 sc each side and at center.
Rows 33-37: Work even-19 sc. End off.
Row 1: With white, sc in 4th sc and in each of next 5 sc. ch 1, turn.
Rows 2-12: Work even on 6 sc. At end of row 12, cut white. Join brown, ch 6.
Row 13: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each of next 4 ch, sc in each of next 6 sc. Ch 1, turn.
Rows 14-1 7: Work even on 11 sc. End off. Work 2nd leg to correspond.
With pink, work 5 sc across end of arm. Ch 1, turn. Work 2 rows even. Dec 1 sc each side of next row. Work 1 row even. End off.
Work as for back.
Sew back and front tog with matching yarns, stuffing as you go.
With pink, ch 2. Work 4 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Ch 1, turn. Work 2 sc in each sc. End otf. Sew to each side of head.
With yellow, embroider hair with long straight sts, having a part on right side ot head. Wind yarn over finger 3 times to make a curl of hair, sew 5 curls across forehead.
With 6 strands of floss, embroider blue eyes in satin st, making horizontal semicircles; work black pupil vertically across half of semicircle. With rose, work straight st nose, outline st mouth. With yellow yarn, make straight st eyebrows.
Sew a bow of brown yarn to front of each shoe.
With white, make a ch long enough to go around head. Sl st in first ch. Ch 1, sc in each ch around. Join; end off. For mirror, with grey or silver yarn (or combine grey and silver), ch 6. Sl st in first ch to form ring. Work 12 sc in ring. Sl st in first sc. End off. Sew to headband.
With black, ch 15. Work 10 rows of 14 sc. End off. For bag end, ch 7; work 2 rows of 6 sc. End off. Make 2 bag ends. Fold bag piece in half. sew in ends. Make 2 (3'') ch for handles. Sew to bag. Leave top of bag open.
Work as for doctor through row37. Do not end off.
Row 38: Inc 1 sc each side.
Row 39: Work even-21 sc. End off.
Row 1: With pink, sc in 6th sc and in each of next 4 sc. Ch 1, turn
Rows 2-10: Work even on 5 sc. At end of row 10, cut pink. Join white, ch 5.
Row 11: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each of next 3 ch, sc in each of next 5 sc. Ch 1, turn.
Rows 12-14: Work even on 9 sc. End off. Work 2nd leg to correspond.
Make hands as for doctor.
Make another piece for front.
Sew back and front together with matching yarns, stuffing as you go.
Sew a bow of white yarn to front of each shoe.
Embroider features as for doctor.
Cut yellow yarn into 4O to 45 10"strands. With yellow, sew across center of all strands for part about 3'' long. Sew hair to head along part. Glue hair to head at sides, tie strands together in back with double strand of white yarn. Sew 3 curls to forehead (see doctor's hair).
Beg at front, with white, ch 15.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch 1 from hook and in each remaining ch. Ch 1, turn each row.
Rows 1 and 3: Dec 1 sc each side.
Rows 4 and 5: Work even on 10 sc.
Row 6: Dec 1 sc each side.
Rows 7-16: Work even.
Row 17: Work across, ch 4; sc in 2nd ch from end, sc in next 2 ch, sc in each sc, ch 4.
Row 18: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 2 ch, sc in 8 sc. End off. Fold front of cap up at row 4; sew ends of tabs (ch-4 extensions) to fold each side. Sew cap to head.
